The duo’s sixth studio album entered the German and Austrian charts at number 11 and 12 respectively (both certified gold) and reached number 3 in the Swiss charts. Whilst tracks such as “3rd Of June”, “Blazing Saddles” and “Alhambra” exude an almost oriental sense of relaxation, the Meier/Blank duo really take off again with the mega-hit single “The Race”: The track shot to number 4 in the German charts, number 6 in Austria, number 7 in the UK charts and number 6 in Switzerland. The album cover, designed by graphic artist Ernst Gamper, perfectly captures the unique racing dynamic of this cult track, before “The Race” is used as a theme and trailer song for various international TV shows; for example, as the iconic theme tune for the German music programme “Formel Eins”, which an entire generation of music fans grew up with.
The album, which was recorded on analog tape, is copied by Revox directly from the analogue production tape without any intermediate steps.
