With PEOPLE IN ROOM N°. 8, Leslie Mandoki achieved his biggest success to date in 1997. Both the album and the hit single “On And On” stayed on the charts and
finally brought the project—already highly acclaimed among music insiders and musicians— to a wider audience.

Ultimately, the performance on “Wetten, dass...?” with Bobby Kimball (Toto), Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), David Clayton-Thomas (Blood, Sweat & Tears), Jack Bruce (Cream), Nik Kershaw, Peter Maffay, and Chaka Khan as a lineup of superlatives also garnered the most attention. Thomas Gottschalk raved: “A performance the likes of which you don’t see every day on ‘Wetten, dass...?’: No fewer than 139 gold records are now marching in, 29 platinum, 26 Grammys!
