The opportunity to contribute to the making of an LP using instruments and a recording technology from the so-called ‘vintage era’ was a wonderfully thrilling experience. ‘One chance  - no mistakes’ was the guiding principle which accompanied me throughout the evening although I was also determined to create, capture and preserve special musical moments. To have been able to produce so much more purely due to the uniqueness of the moment was simply phenomenal.

NHOP, Jaco, John Patitucci, Ray Brown, Jack Bruce, Dave Holland, Steve Swallow - almost all of my Bass-playing role models have made recordings here. I can really sense the atmosphere of all the recording sessions which have taken place here over the decades and the musical history which has been written here. All of a sudden I am here myself at the very place where many of my favourite recordings were made. I feel close to those musicians and find myself trying to imagine how they once played their parts here. An inspiring thought! What a great honour to be able to commit my own performance to tape here.
Thank you so much.

For musicians like us in particular, the attraction often lies in the ‘extraordinary’. But on that evening there was something very special in the air for everyone. Even the recording technicians and the audience focused their attention on each and every moment. They were all acting ‘in concert’ with only the very best of human energy and enthusiasm coming from all sides. An amazing evening to which everyone in the room contributed.
